Initial Assessment Sessions

The first session we have is largely used to assess your current skill levels in all aspects of climbing performance:

  • Physical
  • Technical
  • Mental
  • Tactical

This is necessary if I am to get a good understanding of where you need to focus on to see the biggest improvements. It will also give us a good chunk of time to discuss such areas as training and personal goals. These are just as important an addition to your skill set, because if you aren't training intelligently with achievable goals, you will find it hard to make the biggest performance gains possible.

Don't worry though, we get to do a lot of climbing in this session and I will be able to give you plenty of tips during that you can use to improve your performance from then on in.

Subsequent Sessions

Either by booking a block or just another session, your subsequent sessions will be geared specifically to the individual. If you are following a set training program of mine, it may be that we use a session to focus on how to train your body using your new program. We may be covering a variety of different exercises designed to stimulate a physical response from your body that will improve its efficiency during climbing, whilst still focussing on areas such as technique and mental approach.

One off sessions

As well as the regular sessions, simple one off climbing sessions are an excellent way to get an expert opinion on how to advance and what you need to be doing to continue seeing improvements in your climbing. If you are unsure of what coaching is actually all about and just want a taster to see if it's the right thing for you, then this is a good idea!

Group Sessions (1:2, 1:3 or 4, More!?!?!)

If you have a friend or group of friends who you feel would all benefit from some extra coaching, why not book sessions together? Group sessions are generally more fun and sociable as well as being slightly more cost-effective. Although not as specific as a 1:1 session, Group sessions can be just as valuable if targeted at the right group. Read testimonials to see what others thought of my Group sessions and full day sessions!
